About Me

Kat Cannell

I tell stories.  Stories that otherwise would never be heard.  I give a voice to people, places and things that can’t properly tell their story without me.  Every image tells a story, which means a photos series creates a novel.

Idaho bred and potato fed, I’m proud to call myself a Custer County resident.  However, when asked where I am from, I have a hard time answering.  I am a well rooted drifter; for 6 months out of the year, I live in Ketchum, ID.  The other 6 months, I split my time between Stanley, Ketchum and Salmon, where I help my husband, Willi Cannell, run Solitude River Trips, on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.  Check it out: rivertrips.com.
